New Teaching Offerings at Information Systems IV

  • Date: 06.10.2026
  • Times are changing with AI, bringing great potential but also real threats. We aim to leverage these developments and are continuously creating innovative, interactive teaching concepts for you. This winter semester, TT-Prof. Dr. Maximilian Förster and his team offer two new courses (BA/MA) and seminars:

    Social Media: Analytics and Applications

    Lecture, 4.5 ECTS

Social media networks shape how information and opinions spread, from viral marketing to echo chambers and fake news. Learn to model and analyze these networks and apply your skills to real-world data.

Human Agent Interaction: Tinkering… Waiting, Context Switching, and Human Focus

    Seminar, 4 ECTS

AI agents work on tasks for minutes at a time, leaving users waiting, switching tasks, and refocusing when the agent returns. Review the research on latency and context switching, and design an interaction mechanism that keeps users focused while the agent works.
Applications are open until 11.10. 23:55. Register via the WIWI-Portal.

Second Thoughts in Human-AI Interaction: Designing for Reflection

    Seminar, 4 ECTS

Today's AI systems are interactive, show their steps, and let users steer, but do these interactions make us stop and think or do the contrary? Explore the research on interactivity and reflection, and develop your own design for AI interaction that prompts users to question outputs and reconsider their assumptions.
Applications are open until 11.10. 23:55. Register via the WIWI-Portal.

Collaborating with GenAI to Solve AI Innovation Challenges

    Practical Seminar, 4.5 ECTS

Get hands-on experience with GenAI as a development partner. In teams, you'll build prototypes for real-world innovation challenges with exclusive access to IBM Bob, and reflect critically on the collaboration along the way.
Applications are open until 11.10. 23:55. Register via WIWI-Portal.
